Italy’s high-performance (and beautifully designed) motorcycle maker Ducati has unveiled its first production four-cylinder bike, the Panigale V4. The superbike’s partially exposed sub-frame is made of magnesium, and the oil tank, which doubles as a filter housing, is in a magnesium sump under the crankcase. Lightweight at about 175kg (dry).
The powerful new 2018 model (the 1103cc, 90-degree Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine puts out 214 hp peak power, or 226 hp fitted with a full titanium exhaust) is available in race, sport and street riding modes.
motorcyclenews.com asks, “Could this. . .the most advanced Ducati ever built. . .be the best sportsbike of 2018?”
