Taiwan-based magnesium-alloy chassis maker Catcher Technology has posted consolidated revenues of NT$5.28 billion (US$164.31 million) for the second quarter, increasing 48% sequentially and 22% on year. Consolidated revenues for the first half of 2010 totaled NT$8.84 billion, up 7% on year.
The company's net profits grew 48% sequentially to NT$567 million or an EPS of NT$1.26 with gross margin reaching 33.1% in the second quarter.
For the third quarter, Catcher expects its revenues to see a double-digit growth sequentially with gross margin higher than the second quarter mainly due to strong smartphone chassis demand.
The company also expects its metal chassis shipments for notebooks to rise in the second half as PC replacement demand will emerge in the enterprise market.
