Aluminum Corporation of China Limited, the largest aluminum maker in China, clinched a strategic cooperation agreement with China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) on July 21.
The two parties will join hands in trade cooperation, capital operation, research and development, information sharing, talent exchange, and manufacturing of metallic materials and exploration equipment.
Currently, CHALCO is focusing on seven main businesses, namely aluminum, copper, rare metals, engineering, mining, overseas businesses, and trade.
Lu Youqing, vice general manager of CHALCO, said that the company will enlarge its production capacity of copper and rare metals in the coming five years, but it will not increase its output of aluminum.
In addition, CHALCO planned to raise up to CNY 10 billion by selling as many as 1 billion yuan-denominated A shares to institutional investors. The plan obtained regulatory approval in April this year.
